ABOUT THE CONFERENCE:
Over the last decades,
economic analysis of innovation, technology and knowledge has become a fruitful
area of research and of utmost importance for people in charge of conceiving and
implementing innovation and technology policies aimed at fostering the process
of economic development.
Moreover, those areas
of interest appear to be distinct areas of enquiries in an interdisciplinary
context. The relations among different disciplines are unearthed in the
framework of their impacts on the dynamics of development and technological
change. The principal objective of this conference is to bring together
researchers, specialists and experts from academia, government, national and
international organizations.
The main objective of
this workshop is to bring together researchers and policy makers from new member
states and candidate counties in order to discuss the following research
questions:
• What role do
economic agents play in the determination of technology and innovation policies
and how do they act in shaping the policy mix?
• What are the
implications of policy experiences as far as different approaches to innovation,
technology, and knowledge in favor of government support for R&D are concerned?

innovation, R&D and economic performance
• Innovation and
technology diffusion
• Knowledge management
and learning in organizations
• Systemic nature of
innovation (national, sectoral and local)
• Science, technology
and innovation policies
• Issues concerning
developing countries and technological change
